We are a recognised university Strategic Research Outcome Area at UWA, with vital links to national and international research networks.
Our primary research mission is to create new models of collaborative interdisciplinary enquiry within the broad field of medieval and early modern studies.
We want to apply such models to the investigation of large-scale research questions about the development of pre-modern early European society and culture and its significance for Australia's development.
Research activities
Our staff are centrally involved in the management of:
- ARC Network for Early European Research
- Parergon, the refereed journal of the
Australian and New Zealand Association for Medieval and Early Modern Studies
